1930-1940 The 1930s brought a very turbulent time to the United States. As a result of the Stock Market Crash of 1929, the nation was experiencing a severe depression. There were hard class divisions dividing the nation. People were either extremely rich or extremely poor. The middle class simply did not exist (Bondi 97). On March 4, 1933 Franklin Delano Roosevelt took office with the promise of hope and relief for struggling Americans. Roosevelt followed up his promise for help with the New Deal, his plan to combat the depression. The New Deal involved the three R’s: relief, recovery and reform. How Successfully Did the National Government Deal with the Economic Problems of the 1930s free essay sample

Faced with a steep decline in international trade the; partly due to America’s protectionist tariffs which set import prices of British goods so high that even were they to cost nothing, the price would still be far out of the competitive market, the government implemented an Imperial Tariff System which encouraged the public to buy only from countries within the empire and aid the situation of 1929 wherein the value of British exports was halved ands avoid external goods, thus keeping money in our own economy and not worsening the economic drought, the response tariffs this then caused further encouraged isolationism. In response to floundering businesses and lack of new companies the National Government lowered interest rates to 2% to boost the economy and encourage people to open new businesses using loans from banks which worked to ensure more spending in the aim of growth. This helped the middle class by helping them to help the economy but the effect that this would have on peoples savings was underestimated as suddenly their own money they kept in the banks during a depression at some risk to themselves is now doing less. The National Governments main means of recovery was a surprise to the Labour party, one minister quoting that â€Å"we didn’t know we could do that† referring to the decision by MacDonald to â€Å"come off† the Gold Standard in 1934 and massively boost trade by valuing the pound at its real worth rather than the inflated one. This set trade goods prices far more competitively and eased the depression. It didn’t even cause the hyper-inflation akin to that in Germany in the 1920s that the Labour Government had feared when Keynes first suggested the policy in 1931. The policy did come slightly bitter-sweet however with the news that other countries had left the gold standard as well, either now or years previously and that Britain was the last major power to still hold it. Furthermore this increase in trade did not balance out the loss in international trade of the USA and USSR markets. It may seem that the majority of the National Government’s policies were effective to some degree but, at other times, the coalition seemed utterly useless and reluctant to commit any major money to the restoration of the economy, and this was generally the case; in my opinion the best example of their futility is their attempt to boost industry. The North Atlantic Shipping Act of 1934 attempted to restore the shipbuilding commerce by restoring the building of the Queen Mary ship. The massive cost involved in this task and the purely short-term benefits are symptomatic of other policies. For example, the Cotton Industry Reorganisation Act of 1936 initialised the closure of non-profitable cotton mills, a privately owned sector. The supposedly non-profitable mills employees would now be completely out of work. In an attempt to cut spending the National Government announced a 10% cut in the â€Å"dole† the unemployment benefit and for a means inspector to test you to be sure that you do not possess any items you do not need that could be sold, e. . three chairs when there are two permanent members of the household. Supposedly a policy to save money in the interests of the budget the implications of the act were that everyone is now poorer, the means employees require wages and the time it requires to balance the budget is substantial. In the most direct (and somewhat vague) policy The Special Areas Act of 1934, money was to be applied to the worst affected areas, but this was dependent on their income and the result was many of the poorest people did not apply. Furthermore, the budget for the act was only ? 2 million. These policies seem to suggest that the National Government was somewhat lost on the right course of action to take, and even then their commitment to not worsen the deficit limited them to gimmicks or simple lack of effectiveness. They were hardly helped with the condition that Britain now found itself in. Unemployment figures reached new peaks with the largest being in Wales where 33% of men now found themselves without work. The traditional industries, of coal, cotton, iron, steel and shipbuilding, known collectively as the staple industries were the hardest hit; The coal pits of north Wales were finding themselves without contracts, and the shipyards in Jarrow, near Newcastle were so bad that the men announced a march to London, taking several weeks. It accomplished very little but to show just how bad the north of England had been hit. The south meanwhile suffered heavily from cyclical unemployment, wherein the employee would latch onto short-term work, finish the contract and become unemployed and then find something else. But even then, the unemployment level for the South east never fell below 15% during the 1930s, in stark contrast to Scotland, where employment never reached 85% in the decade. This was partly due to the leadership of the National Government, Both Baldwin and Snowden leaders of the Conservative and Labour parties respectively, disagreed on the trade protection acts, the Tory’s advocating Tariff protection and Labour, free trade. However the two unanimously agreed on treasury policy, the belief that Britain could only become strong through a return to â€Å"normality† of the pre 1914 days. This meant that they believed in no more debts, the very thing that Keynes and Lloyd George recommended as necessary to stimulate the economy. At the time, every other power was engaging in public building works i. e road improvement, phone lines expansion. Keynes spoke of the limitations of our one country, that we cannot â€Å"fix the world† and must focus on domestic problems and recommended rearmament as a means to recovery, referencing the multiplier effect that would emerge where every pound the government spends is returned to the economy at many times its own number. Instead the National government focused instead on housing construction, building 400,000 between 1930-31, ignoring the desperate need of the country; with an average of 4. 3 phones per 100 people, upstaged by America’s 16. 4 It could be argued that in some ways it was the consumer boom that led the way to recovery. The depression lowered prices of goods, insuring that those with money could afford more, known as a real wage increase, the same amount of money could now buy 35% more than the pre-depression days. The government therefore asked the people to spend their way to prosperity, in a manner similar to that to America and Roosevelt’s plans, but with their own laissez-faire element where the government believed that were to intervene too radically, the businesses would collapse or be too dependent on their finance. The consumer boom did therefore lead to some point of recovery, but such a process would take far too long to be completed before the break-out of war in 1939. It is my opinion that the cause of Britain’s recovery from the depression had a great deal to do with the Second World War, and the policy of appeasement that the leadership adopted. The attitude bought Britain time to strengthen itself and get people back into work, with one million jobs created in the weapons development industries between 1936-1939, leading to an overall recovery of there being only one and a half million out of work by 1939. Therefore I believe that contrary to some views that the National Government was a hindrance to recovery, it was more of a half-hearted effort, or a belief that to go in ham-fisted would only worsen the deficit. The leadership certainly did not perform acts of God to speed up the process, they should have undertaken public construction works to provide a longer-term source of jobs, but in the end they did balance the deficit, it simply required the correct circumstances to boost the country in the right direction. Those circumstance came with the rise of the European fascist dictators and the National Government felt the urgency to create work on the scale needed.

Though this was unheard of for a woman writing in 1816 she did just that. Influenced by the events around her, the new scientific developments and social unrest conveyed through her depiction of Victor and through the monster she reveals an outraged awareness of social injustice and a passionate desire for reform. Throughout the novel we are given an image of monster and creator this is conveyed through the central characters. Shelley presents a tale of gothic horror in which we are given opportunities to feel sorry for both main characters; yet we are inclined to feel more sympathy for the monster who after all is a victim of a man essentially playing God. Throughout the novel Shelley plays with our psyche and sympathies as reader, but it is clear that the monster deserves our pity more than Victor. Victor was given a wonderful loving upbringing and was clearly a spoilt child I was their plaything and their idol whereas the monster had none of that; he was not loved by anyone, just Victors mistake. The monster was left alone to wonder where his companions were, But where were my friends and relations? No father had watched my infant days; no mother had blessed me Our sympathies lie in favour of the monster after all he was the one that was unjustly abandoned and left to feel isolated without a friend in the world. I have endured toil and misery Victor shows his selfish nature at other times during the novel, when he is exhausted on Waltons ship and the crew want to go home because it is too dangerous, he responds by accusing the men of cowardice and unmanly behaviour. If they were to abandon their expedition they would return home with a stigma of disgrace judging by his words he has not learnt anything from his ordeal with his monster. He apparently still feels that people should put their own desires above more important issues! Another example of this is the way that he deals with the monsters threats it is clear that the monster wants to hurt him and have his rightful revenge, but Victor assumes that it is only him that the creature wants to kill I will be with you on your wedding night, such was my sentence, and on that night would the daemon employ every art to destroy me from the glimpse of happiness. Yet it is clear that the best way to get to Victor is to harm the people that he loves as the monster has already witnessed Victors reactions towards their deaths, he does not realise this otherwise he would have been more protective of Elizabeth. Though very tragic for Victor and we should feel sorry for him when she is killed it is completely his fault, he was naive and utterly careless to leave somebody that he loves alone while a revengeful monster that is roaming around voicing threats. Victor had the chance to change everything before Elizabeth was murdered and was guaranteed that the monster would leave his family and himself alone for the remainder of their lives. He is just like Dr. Faustus who also had the chance to turn things around and repent the good angel states that it is never too late if Faustus will repent. The angel means if the Doctor repents of his evil decision to turn from God and make a deal with the devil for conjuring powers, he can still be saved. However, the bad angel on Dr. Faustus shoulder soon responds that it is too late. Similarly Victor does leave things too late yet he still had some relatives left worth saving like his father . Although it is clear that Victor has already lost everything and the people that he cherished the most. Our sympathies can now lie with either the monster or his creator as Victor is in a terrible predicament he cannot win either way incase the monster goes back on his word. Victor is torn between morals and his family it is a shame he did not consider that to begin with. Another reason that we should sympathize with the monster is that he did not want or enjoy killing anybody and that the killings did not make him feel better he says that he was the slave, not the master, of an impulse which I detested, yet could not disobey The monster, just like Victor, reaches a point where no feelings are left except hatred. The monster is essentially the one going through the most torment he has to live with what he has done, seeing his creator dead on Waltons ship he shows remorse and with an immense self hatred he tells Walton that he will consume to ashes this miserable frame. Nobody has won the novel ends and both die without satisfaction. The monster did not get a companion nor was he accepted, and Victor lost everything worth living for, they drove there selves to destruction, neither of them would give up as I stated earlier they created a vicious circle in which in the end consumed them both. The monster went through his life lonely and abhorred the only kind moment he had was with the blind De Lacy which was soon ruined by Felix, he did not enjoy his life and was only giving his creator a taste of what he was put through, this essentially is why as reader I believe the monster deserves our pity as nobody should go through life that miserable and despised, he had nobody to care for him at least Victor experienced happiness. A marketing information system (MIS) is intended to bring together disparate items of data into a coherent body of information. Figure below describes the major components of an MIS, the environmental factors monitored by the system and the types of marketing decision which the MIS seeks to underpin. The marketing information systems and its subsystems The explanation of this model of an MIS begins with a description of each of its four main constituent parts: the internal reporting systems, marketing research system, marketing intelligence system and marketing models. It is suggested that whilst the MIS varies in its degree of sophistication – with many in the industrialised countries being computerised and few in the developing countries being so – a fully fledged MIS should have these components, the methods (and technologies) of collection, storing, retrieving and processing data notwithstanding. Internal reporting systems: All enterprises which have been in operation for any period of time nave a wealth of information. However, this information often remains under-utilised because it is compartmentalised, either in the form of an individual entrepreneur or in the functional departments of larger businesses. That is, information is usually categorised according to its nature so that there are, for example, financial, production, manpower, marketing, stockholding and logistical data. Often the entrepreneur, or various personnel working in the functional departments holding these pieces of data, do not see how it could help decision makers in other functional areas. Similarly, decision makers can fail to appreciate how information from other functional areas might help them and therefore do not request it. Which makes one wonder how far a family will go for each other? Some would lie to avoid hurting family member’s feelings, some may convince others to lie to protect another member and some might even hide the way they really feel to not disappoint them. Children never like seeing the look of disappointment on their parent’s faces, so instead of being honest they rather tell a lie so they get in trouble. For example if they were to get a bad mark on a test instead of showing it to their parents they would pretend to forget it at school or lose it so the parents aren’t disappointed. Laura did the same thing in scene two where her mother found out she was no longer attending Business College and that she had been lying about it for a while. Laura’s reason as to not telling her mother about her dropping out was because she didn’t want to see her disappointed face she compares it to â€Å"[The] awful suffering look on your face [is] like the picture of Jesus’ mother in the museum†. (p.15) Meaning Laura lied because she didn’t want to disappoint her mother. Although in some case is lying really necessary? Even if it were to stop a fight between a family member? After the fight between Tom and his mother the next morning Laura begged Tom to speak to Amanda, even when he didn’t want to stating â€Å"[Amanda] not speaking- is that so bad?†(p.28) meaning that he didn’t care if they made up or not but eventually apologized for his sister so he and his mother wouldn’t continue their silent war. Lying though having good intentions cause others to hide their true self. For example Tom lies to his mother about how he feels living at home. In scene four he even tries to tell her the truth by saying â€Å"There’s so much in my heart that I can’t describe to you!† (p.33) Meaning that he’s hiding the way he feels and is not telling his mother so she won’t be hurt, even though all he really want is more adventure â€Å"[which] Adventure is something [he] don’t have much of at work,† in his boring day to day life working at a warehouse, and how he wants to travel like his father which he knows causes he’s mother a lot of pain when she thinks about it. In life there are times when we have to lie, convince others or even hide the way we feel inside to protect the people we love whether it is family members or friends. I related to Laura while reading the book but thought that she was too forgiving of the mother who didn’t even help her son that was working to support them both. I thought the way the author put the book in play form was interesting, but not a story I would read again. Vermont’s tax system is also rendered as a little unfair because of the refundable EITC. The District of Columbia and New York have each achieved a tax system that is close to flat overall via the use of generous EITCs, as well as an income tax that has relatively high top rates (Davis et al 3). In these states, some middle or low-income groups actually pay more local and state income tax than the wealthy actually do. New Jersey is another of the progressive states with their legislature passing a millionaire’s tax, which was vetoed; however, by the Governor for the third straight year. The revenue raised from this would have helped offset property tax decreases for middle class. Finally, Rhode Island came up with an innovative tax idea to reduce incrementally corporate taxes to companies that created employment over a 3-year period in the state, which was a progressive move. Regressive States On the other side, of the tax regimes are ten states that have particularly regressive state and local taxes. These include; Alabama, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona, Illinois, Texas, Tennessee, South Dakota, Florida, and Washington. In these states, residents with lower income are asked to pay almost six times as much income tax as their wealthier counterparts. Middle-income families residing in these states have to pay three times the share of their income when compared to the wealthier families. In a majority of these states, including Nevada, Tennessee, South Dakota and Washington, personal income taxes are not levied on a broad base. The rest of these states, including Illinois and Alabama, do levy income tax, although their income tax is structured in a way that makes them less progressive than, for example, New York and other progressive states. Interpretation of Family Life Education Essay Family Life Education has endured multiple evolutions, definitions and criteria since its origins in contemporary family science between 1881 and 1920. Currently, Family Life Education has tightened the reigns of its purpose, created fundamental criteria and yet still leads itself to an assortment of interpretations. For the purpose of this paper, I will endeavor to give my individual definition of Family Life Education based on course readings and research, the guiding principle of FLE, a theoretical perspective that supports and, is most relevant to my definition of Family Life Education and, a personal philosophy of ‘education’. What does Family Life Education signify to me? Depending on the company you keep, this is a potentially loaded question. Within the realm of my present circle, the question does hold a realistic explanation. Family life education has been significant in the historical development of several educational enterprises (Arcus, vol. 1, 1993, p. 46); therefore, lending itself to the family life professional to select a track that best complements their own philosophies and professional preparation. The definition by the National Council on Family Relations (2006) sums up what FLE means to me, â€Å"Family life education is the educational effort to strengthen individual and family life through family perspective. The objective of family life education is to enrich and improve the quality of the individual and the family life. † As a future professional in this distinctive field, I strive to possess the many characteristics of a well-rounded practitioner, including, but not limited to, sound knowledge of the professional content and to function, when needed in a multidisciplinary approach. As the possibilities to individual and family composition are endless, the ability to draw from other disciplines is crucial. It is probable that when working with a family for instance that is struggling with an issue, the family life professional would need to utilize an approach that incorporated all of Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences (1983). In addition, it is also important to note Family life educators have used educational concepts as their solitary approach to ‘multidisciplinary’ intervention (Arcus, vol. 2, 1993, pg. 28) and this approach has created concern amongst scholars and professionals alike. To become multi disciplinary, Arcus (1993) offers that through the use of knowledge from a broader range of disciplines and through greater cooperation among the contributing disciplines, true multidisciplinary approach can be attained. As indicated previously, the composition of individual or family is infinite and special attention needs to be paid to issues of diversity. Within the profession of Family Studies, there is particular emphasis on valuing differences and respecting those distinctions (Arcus, vol. 2, 1993, pg. 28) furthermore, creating effective working relationships with persons served. Lastly, to complete the puzzle of the well rounded practitioner, one must be able to utilize their own life experiences relevant to family life topics and to honestly accept those experiences as not to furnish hypocritical recommendations. To further personalize my definition of Family Life Education, I have compiled some additional ideas. It is unlikely that a professional in the field of Family Studies is wandering aimlessly without purpose or direction. Typically, they are a part of an organization that is providing services to individuals or families with a set of defined needs. Even more likely it is the responsibility of the professional to design, develop and deliver the services needed by means of effective programming. The Family Life professional becomes the program and an effective program does not rest solely on content (Brindis Davis, et al, 1998, part IV). The professional must mobilize for action by increasing awareness and generating support of a program, assess the needs and assets of the populations served and build strong foundations that will serve to protect the potential of the program and last, but surely not least, design an effective Family Life Education program. Designing a new or adapted family life education program frequently entails many planning and management issues. The development is easier when the concerns are planned for at the onset. Think about how to advocate for the program, especially in the face of controversy. Expect controversy (Brindis Davis, et al. 1998, sect. IV). Controversy or conflict is seguing to the subsequent topic, the guiding principles of Family Life Education. Intervention, the anti-conflict: Being proactive in a reactive world. ‘Intervention by way of education’, this statement, in my opinion is the guiding principle to family life education. No matter how you slice it, the opportunity to impart an intervention is endless. Intervention can have many connotations. In day to day life it is regularly defined as an unwelcomed interference. For instance, a wife introduces an intervention for her substance abusing husband, of which does not want to admit to or take responsibility for his addiction. Therefore the husband would characterize the intervention as ‘unwelcomed interference’. For the purpose of family studies, the definition takes a neutral stance to denote the ‘taking of clearly defined actions to induce change’ (Encarta English Dictionary). The change is expected to be positive, indicating harmony or affirmation. Societies evolve along different cultural, religious, historical, economic, geographical, and political paths. At any time, members of different societies view themselves and the world from distinctive perspectives. Yet global trends in communication and information dissemination, entertainment, and other economic and commercial exchanges always affect local realities, sometimes more than people living in those localities fully understand. How children, adolescents, and adults are assigned roles ultimately reflects the convergence of such societal paths and global trends. The preceding statements have the potential to be segue ways and/or roadblocks to the family professional. The professional should establish family life education at an early age, to combat the notion of reaction and to introduce the idea of prevention, lessening the likelihood of ever intervening. The introduction of a program that would counter negative or damaging societal outcomes should implement age appropriate curricula, especially when working solely with school age children, which meets the developmental needs and matches backgrounds and life experiences of all individuals involved. What are â€Å"universal† interventions? As adapted from Family Health International (2001), †¢Offer education and skill-building †¢Engage youth caretakers, including parents, extended family, or other adults such as teachers and youth workers. †¢Engage youth themselves in program design, development, implementation, and evaluation. †¢Ensure access to counseling and other services that respond to the special needs of the individual or family †¢Augment collaboration and effective referrals among existing health and other development agencies and organizations. †¢Coach program site managers, service providers, and others to improve their interactions with individuals and families †¢Have clear goals, target populations, and indicators while building in monitoring and evaluation from the beginning of a project; use such findings to improve strategies and services. The family life professional should strive to maintain balance and realistic programming and to ultimately provide information and activities that encourage skill development that is relevant and useful. Imparting a value system and norms when they are lacking or completely absent to an individual or family is an asset to the overall program, especially when follow through is a potential issue. A basic skill set is at least in place. Last but not least, ensure that your program is based on a solid theoretical model. Ability, Desire and Potential: Why MI theory is relevant to Families â€Å"Successful and unsuccessful people do not vary greatly in their abilities. They vary in their desires to reach their potential. John Maxwell During the tenure of this course, Family Study Methodologies, we have encountered many theories and how they are or have been significant to the field of Family Life Education. The theories have run the gamut from their birthplace in social theory and social therapy to a current state of post modern, contemporary status. As indicated by Lavee and Dollahite (1991), there is a weak link between theory and research in modern family science and they go further to say, from multiple points of view, it is imperative to couple theory with research methods. There are multiple approaches to theory and research in the family sciences (Sourcebook, pg. 17) and there is not one that is committed as the ‘flagship theory’ to FLE. Rather the â€Å"interplay between scholars, families and the socio-cultural context that surrounds them† (Sourcebook, pg. 18). These connections should pay special attention to the unique quality of families in society and how these families function within their environment. It is necessary to confirm what I mean by theory within the field of family life education. As defined by Gibbs ( 1972, p.5),sourcebook p 20 theory is â€Å" a set of logically interrelated statements in the form of empirical assertions about properties of infinite classes of events or things†. This definition lends itself to the notion of a conceptual framework, a theory that has not come full circle. Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligences fits this description. Although there are several intelligences define which possess a sound theoretical foundation, eight to be exact, there are additional ‘intelligences’ waiting in the wings for validation; therefore supporting the notion of the conceptual framework. Gardner’s theory is relevant to family life education, in part due to its flexible and expandable nature but mostly because the ‘family’ is a phenomenal, progressive body that needs room to evolve, just as MI theory continues to do. Okay to Digital Violence :: essays research papers

2500 years ago the Romans were the most powerful civilization on earth, their global power hadn’t been met until the 20th century. When the Romans wanted entertainment they turned to violence. They would have gladiators covered in armor wielding sharp swords fight till the death for entertainment. During the 1500’s the French would behead a criminal publicly to show the citizens how powerful the law was and also for their entertainment. The turn of the century is almost here and such violent acts have all but been abolished. These acts are considered barbaric and we think of ourselves as a more peaceful race. Humans in general are not peaceful in nature, we have always been violent and we shouldn’t try to change our nature as drastically as we have done. There are going to be side effects that we aren’t aware of if we try to remove this important part of our nature. Humans need some form of violence to help cope with stress and the everyday hassles we have created for ourselves. Now with new technology and faster computers we no longer need to injure someone to get that needed amount of violence. Simulated violence is a more humane way of dealing with such problems. Groups of people should partake in sessions of simulated violence to get the dosage of violence they need. When I speak of simulated violence I speak of video games and more specifically multi-player video games. A single-player video game is one where a single person is engaged against the computer. This form of play can help relive stress but not nearly as much as a multi-player game. A multi-player game is one where at least 2 people are playing against each other. Multi-player games highly satisfy the need for violence because it becomes easy to show aggression against someone with injury or personal harm. I have been a player of these games since I was younger and I have participated in many multi-player games. The games I have been evolved in mostly had at least 3 players and are generally at night and during the weekend. Games consisting of only 2 players aren’t played as frequently as a game with more simply because they aren’t as entertaining.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  A session of playing will start almost whenever there are a few men in the vicinity of a playing console. The game playing can usually become the centerpiece of a small party, enabling the players to enjoy playing and all bystanders to watch what unfolds while waiting their turn.

A usual cool tempered person Othello is inflicted with rage about the possibility of his wife sleeping with his lieutenant, Cassio. Iago has the ability to cloud the head of Othello with lies about the Desdemona and Cassio causing suffering and tragedy. A tragedy is a serious action or event that always turns out the worst way possible. Iago has setup Othello just enough for Othello to create his own disaster.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The literary devises that William Shakespeare uses in this play help us understand the many themes and symbols in the play. Alliteration is the repetition of the same starting letter to help the line have a smooth sound and good flow. In this play, it isn’t as used as much as some of the recent plays that we have read, but it can still be found. All the minor fights between Desdemona and Othello start a pattern that foreshadows the tragic ending of this story. â€Å"Tis destiny unshunnable, like death† (275). Foreshadowing are sometimes symbols or signs that usually predict events or overcomes in the story. The most prominent symbol is this play includes the image of the handkerchief. The handkerchief shows the love of Othello for Desdemona. Since she dropped and lost the handkerchief she no longer can understand the pain that Othello is enduring. The stress that Othello goes through because of the handkerchief tells of the faith and commitment of De sdemona. These literary devices help us interpret the play as it is meant to be understood.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Several lines in this speech suggest that Othello starts to blame himself. One in which is â€Å"Haply, for I am black/ And have not those soft parts of conversation/ That chamberers have, or for I am declined/ Into the vale of years† (263 – 266). He thinks because he is of a different color that his wife is no longer in love with him. This bring into the subject of interracial marriage. To this day many oppose the marriage of blacks and whites. Not knowing what to think at this point in the play, Othello conjure ups the idea that the being blacks has caused his wife, Desdemona, to cheat on him with a younger, fit soldier. Not knowing that this is false he asks his wife many times if this is true.

Kathy lacked sufficient emotional intelligence to be effective in her new project manager assignment by Self awareness: Kathy had a deep understanding of her strength not her weakness to have time to talk to her staff. There was also lack of empathy as she failed to have the â€Å"ability to recognise the feelings and expectations of others and take them into consideration† as they were also local residents. Poor relationship with the staff resulted to â€Å"a campaign of passive resistance to her leadership†. 2. The element she exhibit successfully were: †¢Motivation: although the project became quickly bogged due to poor performance she still managed to motivate herself and â€Å"pushed her team hard†. Also by settling goals for staff and senior members of the project to â€Å"work long hours† to accomplish important milestones in order to complete the assignment. B. Learn About Spanish Interrogative Pronouns Quà © and cul  are two words that can be confusing to people learning Spanish, because they can be translated as the same word into English, namely, what.  It is sometimes said that  quà ©Ã‚  is closer to what in meaning, and  cul  is closer to which. But that rule isnt always true. When to Use Accent Marks The two words, when they have  accents, are used as interrogative  pronouns  in questions to mean what or which.  Quà ©Ã‚  is the same in the singular and plural forms; the plural of  cul  is  cules. Accented  forms of these words appear only in exclamations and in questions, which includes an  indirect  question. The accented  quà ©Ã‚  is found most often at the beginning of a sentence, although  it sometimes follows de  and other prepositions, especially in indirect questions.  For example,  Ã‚ ¿De quà © color es la  camisa?  meaning, What color is the shirt?   Without accents, normally que  and  cual are not being used as a question. Most often, they are connecting words or, technically speaking, relative pronouns, translated to mean which or that. They can stand for either feminine or masculine objects as well as ideas or concepts. An example of this usage is a popular phrase,  Creo que sà ­, meaning, I think that is so.
